Mae Wang National Park

Mae Wang National Park is located 1 hour drive from Chiang Mai, near Doi Inthanon.

In this park, you can see beautiful rock formations, a reservoir, go camping, go to a waterfall and cave and see elephants.

Unfortunately most of the activities are currently closed. In January 2023 only the Phachor rock formation site and the campsite are open. If you are interested in other activities, consider looking at the park’s Facebook page or contacting them directly before going there.

Phachor

Phachor is the main activity. There is a viewpoint at the 1st parking lot, then you will have to take a short hike in a “canion” to reach the site.

Camping

There is also a campsite just next to the reservoir. The campsite is deserted, few people camp there, so if you like calm, it’s great. The campsite building is new, they serve coffee, tea and other beverages and canned noodle dishes. It is possible to rent all the equipment for camping (see price on the photo).
